An HSS4x4x1/4 hollow structural section infill beam frames into a recessed wide flange steel beam using double-angle shear connections bolted to the web of the supporting beam. A concrete slab on metal deck bears across the top of the assembly as specified per plan. The HSS framing is secured to the wide flange beam with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds configured with two-twelve spacing. A primary beam member sized per plan supports the lower connection assembly.
