A reinforced concrete slab is supported by metal decking running perpendicular to structural steel beams. Shear studs are welded to the top flange of the beams as required, with a continuous number 3 reinforcing bar wired to the studs to support welded wire fabric or reinforcement. Additional number 3 bars at six feet zero inches long spaced at twelve inches on center are provided at cantilever conditions and at W24 and deeper beams. The slab edge features a fourteen gauge continuous bent plate edge form with a one-half inch return at the top and two continuous number 4 reinforcing bars, allowing a maximum cantilever of two feet zero inches. Clearances include one inch to welded wire fabric and three-quarters of an inch to rebar, with a minimum two inch bearing on intermediate beams.
