An elevator guide rail support column is anchored to a concrete foundation wall and concrete slab via a steel base plate. The base plate measures column width by one-half inch thick by column depth plus six inches, secured with two three-eighths-inch diameter screw anchors. A typical one-quarter-inch fillet weld connects the column to the base plate.
