An HSS 6x4 elevator separator beam frames into a structural steel member using an L8x6x1/2 angle with long leg vertical, cut to fit. The angle is secured to the supporting member with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The HSS beam connects to the angle with a quarter-inch fillet weld, maintaining a three-inch minimum clearance. A two-inch minimum clearance is maintained at the top flange unless noted otherwise.
