The insulated metal panel sits within a four-inch by sixteen-gauge galvanized base track, pre-finished by the manufacturer. The base track fastens flush to a steel support plate, with the panel drawn tight against the interior flange of the track. A layer of butyl tape sits between the base track and the support plate. The base track contains a half-inch depth of pourable Tremco Vulkem 45SSL caulking, requiring adjacent surfaces to be masked prior to application. Number twelve screws spaced at twelve inches on center secure the assembly, typical. The base channel fastens flush to a built-up concrete curb, with stand-off framing details provided separately in the structural drawings.
