A vertical transition occurs at an existing concrete exterior wall and parapet intersecting a concrete slab on a metal deck. An existing concrete-encased steel beam is integrated into the wall assembly at the floor level. The concrete slab on steel deck bears against the assembly with a deck ledger and continuous reinforcing dowels detailing the wall-to-slab interface.
