A heavy structural steel column is anchored by a three-and-a-half-inch Grade 50 steel base plate secured with eight one-and-three-quarter-inch-diameter Grade 105 anchor bolts in five-sixteenth-inch oversized holes. Square washer plates measuring one by four inches are installed over each anchor bolt and left unwelded. The base plate is detailed with standard dimensioned spacings for the column centerline and bolt patterns.
