A concrete footing supports the foundation wall adjacent to a backfilled utility trench containing a pipe. The trench must maintain a minimum horizontal distance of two feet from the edge of the concrete footing. The bottom of the utility trench must remain at or above a line defined by a two-to-one slope extending down from the bottom corner of the concrete footing. Sizing and reinforcement of the concrete footing are determined per the structural plan and schedule.
