A reinforced concrete column vertical bar offset and lap splice occurs where the offset exceeds three inches. Column vertical bars are offset to the inside of the bars above with a maximum one-to-six slope. For non-contact lap splices, the bar spacing must not exceed the lesser of six inches or one-fifth of the splice length. Ties or spirals are provided per the column schedule and note requirements.
