A concrete pad is poured over a roughened surface atop a structural steel deck and slab. The pad features a maximum height of twelve inches and maintains one and one-half inches of clearance to the reinforcement. Horizontal reinforcement consists of number four bars spaced at eighteen inches each way. Dowels or vertical reinforcing ties are detailed as number four bars at twenty-four inches each way, extending down into the assembly with a six-inch horizontal lap.
