Cold-formed metal studs terminate below a concrete beam or slab with a one-half-inch gap to accommodate vertical deflection. A slotted top track is secured to the underside of the concrete using shot pins spaced at sixteen inches on center. Fasteners at the jamb studs are installed per structural drawings, maintaining a three-inch minimum edge distance where the slab edge occurs.
