Two adjacent precast concrete panels are tied together using embedded steel plates and diagonal reinforcing bars. The connection incorporates a three-quarter-inch by one-and-a-half-inch by one-foot-four-inch plate welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on each side, alongside half-inch by one-foot plates. Two number eight reinforcing bars measuring four feet in length extend diagonally from each panel corner into the connection zone as typical embedment. A blockout and patch detail with a one-and-a-half-inch recess accommodates the joint hardware.
