A galvanized steel pipe for fall arrest protection is mounted to a supporting steel beam with top of steel elevation varying per plan. A three-eighths inch stiffener plate is provided if the incoming steel beam is not present on both sides of the supporting beam. The incoming steel beam features a C30 connection with standard holes. A complete joint penetration weld is specified at the top flange, and welds follow manufacturer recommendations. The maximum imposed load is five kips in any direction with a maximum moment of 7.5 kip-feet.
