A vertical hollow structural section or pipe hanger supports wide-flange beams at staggered elevations using knife plates, bolts, and welding sized per schedule. Each wide-flange beam connects to the hanger web or face through a knife plate assembly secured with multiple bolts. The top of steel elevations for the beams are determined per plan.
