A concrete slab features a local thickened profile to accommodate an embedded pipe or conduit running beneath the reinforcement. The slab is reinforced with 4x4 - W1.4xW1.4 welded wire fabric or number 4 reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center. The pipe or conduit maintains a minimum two-inch clearance below the reinforcement and is set above a six-inch local deepened trench in the subgrade. The entire assembly bears directly on firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill with a minimum six-inch depth beneath the thickened invert.
