A structural steel beam connects between an upper and a lower hollow structural section column per plan. The connection utilizes four three-quarter inch diameter A307 erection bolts typically located at the top and bottom flanges. One-quarter inch fillet welds are specified typically on each side along the beam web and flanges. A minimum one-inch dimension is maintained typically from the face of the hollow structural section column. Field welding is indicated with a field-weld symbol at the lower column connection plate.
