A wide-flange steel beam connects to a wide-flange steel column web or flange using full-penetration groove welds at the top and bottom flanges, each indicated with field weld symbols. The beam web is indicated with a separate connection callout. Field weld flags are included on the weld symbols for top and bottom flange connections.
