Cold-formed metal framing base track secures to the concrete slab using powder-actuated fasteners spaced at a maximum of sixteen inches on center with a minimum one-and-a-half-inch embedment. Stud ends bear directly on the track web maintaining a maximum one-eighth-inch gap for non-bearing wall conditions. Double jamb studs at the end of the wall connect to the track using number eight self-drilling screws on each side, matching the stud count in built-up configurations. Load-bearing shims or groups are provided between the underside of the wall bottom track and the support below at stud or joist locations whenever gaps exceed one-eighth inch.
