Adhesive anchor embedment into existing concrete utilizes new threaded rods and rebar dowels or deformed bar anchors. Holes are drilled one-eighth inch larger than the dowel or bolt diameter, with permissible adhesives specified in the general structural notes. Embedment lengths range from six inches for one-half inch diameter bolts up to sixteen inches for one-inch diameter bolts, and lengths must be adjusted to the wall thickness minus one and one-half inches when walls are thin. Embedment lengths are measured directly into the primary structure rather than any exterior veneer, unless noted otherwise.
