A non-bearing steel stud wall terminates below a steel roof beam with a one-inch gap and a T200-43 deflection track featuring a minimum two-inch flange. A 400S162-43 steel stud brace ties the wall to the roof beam at each end and eight feet on center maximum on alternating sides, welded with typical one-eighth inch fillet welds. Contractors have the option to install clips in lieu of welds to the top track or to install the deflection track directly to beams spaced no more than eight feet on center. Stud bridging is provided within twelve to eighteen inches of the top of the wall per structural details, matching the steel stud gauge. The ceiling line is positioned per architectural drawings.
