A vertical railing post formed by a channel member connects to a supporting steel beam and concrete slab edge. Two one-half-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts secure the assembly in oversized holes. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is welded to the vertical picket at six feet on center maximum with quarter-inch fillet welds on four sides. Number four dowels conforming to ASTM A706 are embedded in the slab at twelve inches on center with five-eighths-inch clearance.
