This connection details a steel deck running parallel to a masonry bond beam wall. A 1/4 inch thick by 15 inch wide by 2 feet 3 inch long embed plate is secured to the bond beam with four 3/4 inch diameter expansion anchors featuring a 3 1/4 inch minimum embedment at 12 inches on center in the deck flute. An L4x3x5/16 angle, 1 foot 0 inches long, is welded to the embed plate with 3/16 inch fillet welds at each end of the angle. A typical top of wall gap is maintained, and expansion anchors must be located a minimum of 6 inches from the edge of the concrete in any direction.
