A built-up box header consisting of two 8-inch by 1-5/8-inch 18-gauge metal studs with 6-inch by 1-1/2-inch 18-gauge track at top and bottom is fastened to supporting metal studs spaced at 16 inches on center. A metal stud ceiling joist is connected to the box header assembly using a 2-inch by 2-inch by 18-gauge by 7-1/2-inch angle clip secured with three number 8 self-drilling screws on each leg. A ledger track supports the joist assembly, with number 8 self-drilling screws spaced at 12 inches on center fastening the track flanges to the framing. Plywood decking extends over the drywall finish and is secured to the top tracks with number 8 self-drilling screws at 12 inches on center.
