A structural steel column is anchored within a reinforced concrete pier and grade beam assembly using an 18-inch by 16-inch by 2-inch base plate secured by four 1 1/2-inch diameter anchor bolts with washers. The concrete pier features ten #11 vertical reinforcing bars and four #11 bars at each face. The adjoining grade beam incorporates #5 ties spaced at 6 inches on center typical. The steel column section is sized per the structural plan and schedule.
