Full height depth blocking connects to steel joists or studs per plan on each end using two number ten sheet metal screws. The web features a two-inch cope with the web bent flush up each end as required. A contractor alternative permits a two-inch by two-inch by eighteen-gauge clip angle sized to the depth of the joist minus two inches, fastened with two number ten self-tapping screws on each leg.
