A five-eighths inch (or nineteen thirty-seconds inch) plywood or OSB panel meets a one-half inch full plywood or OSB panel over a wood joist supported by a steel tee. The one-half inch panel uses two and one-eighth inch long nails on both sides. A one-eighth inch plywood shim is placed beneath the thinner panel and secured with 10d nails at twelve inches on center.
