A stair stringer bears onto a concrete footing measuring one foot six inches wide by one foot six inches deep, reinforced with two continuous number five rebar. The stringer is secured using an inside angle measuring four inches by four inches by one-quarter inch thick and zero feet eight inches long, fastened with two three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts or expansion bolts spaced at five inches on center. A three-eighths-inch thick closure plate is welded to the assembly with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. Tread connections feature manufacturer-supplied angles. The concrete footing maintains three inches of clear cover.
