A cast-in-place concrete pier foundation supports a steel light pole with a base plate and anchorage provided by others. The cylindrical pier measures thirty inches in diameter, bearing in natural undisturbed soil or approved compacted soil with a three-inch typical concrete cover. Concrete mix utilizes Type V Portland cement conforming to ASTM C150, achieving a compressive strength of forty-five hundred pounds per square inch at twenty-eight days, with special inspection required. Reinforcement consists of four number six vertical bars enclosed by number three ties at twelve inches on center, supplemented by three number three ties at the top of the pier. A one-and-one-half-inch minimum non-shrink grout pad sits beneath the base plate, extending above the finished grade pavement level shown per civil drawings.
