An HSS8x8x3/8 elevator divider beam connects to a structural steel post below a concrete slab. The slab features a top elevation sized per plan and anchors an embed plate measuring 1/2 inch by 7 inches by 1 foot 7 inches with eight three-quarter-inch diameter by 5-inch long headed studs. Two L4x3-1/2x3/8 angles, each 5 and one-half inches long, attach each side to the embedded plate. A maximum half-inch gap is maintained at the post connection, which is welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides.
