A mechanical unit sits atop a metal curb per manufacturer specifications, which connects to the curb via minimum 43-mil clips on each side fastened with eight number-10 sheet metal screws. A pressure-treated wood timber measuring six by six inches serves as the transition base and is anchored to the steel beam below using three-quarter-inch diameter welded studs spaced at a maximum of 36 inches on center. The wood curb bears directly on a steel deck with cutouts at the flutes, fastened to the supporting steel beam with a plate as required. Three-eighths-inch diameter by three-inch lag screws at 24 inches on center secure the metal curb to the wood curb with a minimum of three fasteners on each side.
