A galvanized steel pipe davit for fall arrest protection is supported by a structural steel beam sized per plan. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is provided if an incoming steel beam is not present on both sides of the supporting beam. The davit pipe is welded per the manufacturer and subject to a maximum imposed load of five kips in any direction and a maximum moment of 7.5 kip-feet applied in any orientation. Incoming steel beams connect with standard holes according to the structural plans.
