This structural detail shows a typical beam-to-beam shear plate connection framing into the centerline of a supporting beam. Both framing beams feature typical coped top and bottom flanges with maximum depth and length restrictions conforming to project specifications and schedules. A typical shear plate connects the web of the framing beam to the supporting member web using a multi-bolt configuration sized per plan. All member sizes and connection configurations follow the structural beam schedule and general notes.
