A top-of-wall connection for a concrete masonry unit partition wall intersects a structural steel roof system. A continuous bond beam at the top of the CMU wall incorporates typical continuous horizontal reinforcement and a maximum 1/8-inch gap beneath the supporting assembly. Pairs of bent plates measuring 1/4 inch by 12 inches are spaced at 48 inches on center and 24 inches from each end of the wall. A structural steel beam and roof deck are positioned above with a 1-inch gap allowed for beam and floor deflection. An angle brace sized at 2-1/2 by 2-1/2 by 3/16 inches connects the beam brace to the roof deck using two number 10 TEK screws located at each bent plate assembly.
