Double shear studs are welded directly to the centerline of a steel beam through the metal deck ribs for beams with a flange thickness of one-quarter inch or less. The metal deck rib is cut as required to accommodate the paired studs. Reinforcing steel is placed per plan within the concrete topping over the metal deck.
