The control joint assembly consists of an upper one-eighth-inch sawcut extending to one-quarter of the slab depth, spaced and filled with mastic, completed within four to twelve hours of pouring the slab. The construction joint assembly incorporates smooth dowels measuring three-quarters of an inch by eighteen inches at twenty-four inches on center, with a snug-fitting twenty-four gauge metal sleeve on one side of the joint and two continuous number four reinforcing bars. The concrete slab features a thickness profile with a two-inch minimum clearance at the top and a three-inch clearance at the bottom, centered around thickened edges with nine-inch transition zones and two-foot sloped approaches.
