A concrete slab on metal deck bears on a structural steel beam with a two-inch bearing width and a continuous L3x3x3/8 angle support welded with five-sixteenths fillet welds. The top of the concrete slab features a stepped or depressed edge bounded by continuous number five reinforcing bars and number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center. A half-inch diameter deformed bar anchor measuring two feet long is spaced at twelve inches on center along the beam flange. Deck manufacturer closures are provided at the deck ends, and slab reinforcement maintains one and a half inches and half-inch clearances as specified.
