A utility pipe is housed inside a backfilled trench running parallel to a concrete footing. The bottom of the trench must remain above a line projected at a two-to-one slope from six inches above the bottom of the footing. A minimum horizontal clearance of two feet is maintained between the footing and the edge of the trench. The concrete footing and slab are sized per plan and schedule.
