The supported beam connects to the column flange or web using top and bottom plates welded with complete joint penetration welds and a minimum three-eighths-inch plate shear tab secured with erection bolts as required. Additional plate sizing follows standard beam flange to column flange or web conditions with a thirty-degree bevel specification and one-half-inch plates for Grade A490 bolts.
