The top detail features a shear stud positioned adjacent to the metal deck with an 18-gauge closure plate and a minimum two-inch clearance from the beam and stud centerline. The bottom detail includes a stud shear connector passing through the metal deck. Notes specify that when clearance 'X' to the stud plate is less than one and one-half inches, an 18-gauge closure plate is provided below high flutes only, with the stud placed adjacent to open low flutes.
