The brace connects to a gusset plate welded to the column and beam flange, with working points located at the center of the column and one-half of the actual beam depth. A beam shear tab connects the beam web to the column flange with bolts. Welds secure the gusset plate to the structural members with sizes detailed per engineering schedules. Column stiffener plates are provided typically at the beam flange locations.
