An HSS8x8x3/8 sign post connects to structural steel roof and floor framing using welded plates and through bolts. The sign post top connection features a 1/2-inch plate welded to the beam flange with 5/16-inch fillet welds on three sides, and two 7/8-inch diameter through bolts at the beam gauge. The sign post base connection incorporates a 3/4-inch base plate and 3/8-inch stiffener plates on each side with 5/16-inch fillet welds. A sign outrigger frame constructed from HSS tubing with a 1/4-inch cap plate ties into the assembly, coordinated with the sign manufacturer.
