An open web steel joist seat extends two inches past the beam centerline bearing on a wide flange beam. Metal deck laps one inch on the beam centerline with diaphragm edge welding provided per general notes. Continuous blocking is installed between joists per detail 8/S05-02. Welds attach the joist seat to the beam flange at two places at six inches spacing on each side.
