Steel grating spans across a structural steel beam supported by a continuous one-quarter-inch thick bent plate spacer. The bent plate is welded to the top flange of the steel beam with one-quarter-inch fillet welds spaced at twelve inches on center. Adjacent to the assembly, an eight-inch thick concrete slab terminates at a six-inch concrete curb with a four-inch clearance gap.
