A wide flange beam moment connection frames into a hollow structural section column. The beam flanges are welded directly to the column using complete joint penetration welds with a one-inch return, incorporating fifty ksi cap plates and continuity plates sized to match the thickest welded beam flange plus one-eighth inch. The beam web is supported by a structural tee containing two seven-eighths inch diameter erection bolts, with three bolts required for w-eighteen shapes or greater. Weld access holes are detailed per aisc three-sixty standards at the beam web and flange junctions.
