A collector beam frames into a wide-flange column using a bolted web connection and a bottom flange reinforcement plate matching the beam flange thickness. The web connection utilizes ten bolts, maintaining a minimum one-and-a-half-inch clearance from any complete joint penetration welds. A half-inch plate matches the beam web thickness, and the bottom flange is blocked on each side with a one-by-sixteen-inch plate aligned with the opposing beam bottom flange. A complete joint penetration weld is ground smooth when there is no bottom flange, and a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the reinforcement assembly. A buckling-restrained braced frame beam connects on the opposite side of the column per elevation.
