A hollow structural section connects to a concrete panel using a 1/2-inch by 9-inch by 1-foot 6-inch steel plate embedded with four 3/4-inch diameter by 6-inch long stud bolts at 6-inch gauge. The structural steel member is welded to the plate with a 1/4-inch fillet weld, and a C-channel is attached per plan. All welded edges are ground smooth and prepared for prime and paint.
