Steel column base plate details show three column types with varying anchor bolt configurations and plate dimensions designated as Type T1, Type T2, and Type T3. The base plates feature a one-quarter-inch fillet weld to the face of flats at the structural steel tubes. A two-inch thick non-shrink grout layer sits beneath the base plate over the concrete foundation. Anchor rods extend a minimum of nine inches into the concrete support with hooked ends and typical three-inch edge clearances. Sizing parameters define dimension G as the workable gage of the supporting beam per AISC Manual Table 1-1 or three times the bolt diameter, and dimension D as the column width plus one inch or G plus three inches.
