A davit socket pedestal is anchored to a structural steel plate or beam flange atop a concrete-filled deck. The assembly includes four number five reinforcing bars at six feet long each way, configured with standard hooks at the slab edge where required. The davit socket itself is designed by others and supported on a pedestal standing one foot eight inches above the top of roofing. Fillet welds of three-eighths inch size are specified typically at the base connection.
