A hollow structural section member connects to a concrete slab using a one-half-inch thick steel tab plate welded with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld. The connection transfers loads to an embedded steel plate measuring one-half-inch by nine inches by zero feet ten inches, anchored into the concrete slab with four three-quarters-inch diameter by six-inch welded headed studs. The layout utilizes symmetrical three-and-one-half-inch spacing from the member centerline.
