Continuity plates are welded inside a wide flange column web with specific cope dimensions at the corners to clear the fillet. The top plate features a bevel weld at the web with a minimum one-and-one-quarter-inch clearance dimension. The bottom plate utilizes a fillet weld at the web. Dimensional callouts establish a minimum extension of k plus one-and-one-half inches and a maximum dimension of k plus one-half inch.
